Abstract
Department of Medicine Grand Rounds is another installment of our "Year in Review" Series. This series highlights practice-changing updates in various medical fields, and in this session we will be hearing from some of our experts in Cardiology.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the benefits of rhythm vs. rate control in patients with early onset of atrial fibrillation
- Review the benefits of catheter ablation as a first line therapy in patients with cardiomyopathy presenting with ventricular tachycardia
- Define what conduction system pacing is and how can it benefit patients with heart failure who meet criteria for cardiac resynchronization therapy
- Improve cardiovascular disease outcomes by understanding on lipoprotein(a) testing and cardiovascular diseases
- Optimize cardiovascular care by adequate residual risk assessment and prevention strategies
- Improve utilization of statin and non statin therapies in lowering cardiovascular disease risk
- Improve patient outcomes through better triage of patients appropriate for invasive management of ischemic heart disease
- Improve clinician performance in medical management for patients with ischemic heart disease
- Improve physician knowledge on options for testing for patients with suspicion of ischemic heart disease
