Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Counsel patients effectively on evidence‑based treatment options for benign symptomatic thyroid nodules, including thyroid surgery and minimally invasive ablative therapy with radiofrequency ablation.
  • Identify and appropriately select patients with thyroid nodules who are suitable candidates for referral for radiofrequency ablation based on clinical, imaging, and symptom‑based criteria.
  • Apply the principles of initial recurrence‑risk stratification in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer to guide management and follow‑up planning.
  • Determine appropriate indications for de‑escalating or discontinuing surveillance in patients with low‑risk differentiated thyroid cancer who demonstrate an excellent response to therapy.
