MODULE INTRODUCTION

Target Audience:

All faculty, animal facility staff, research staff, and other personnel who use animals in biomedical research.

Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to

  • Prevent introduction of excluded diseases into SPF colonies
  • Order rodents from various sources and understand the quarantine process
  • Follow appropriate husbandry guidelines and select appropriate research techniques
  • Identify hazards in rodent research
  • Use the IACUC website to find information needed to conduct high quality animal research.
